Scotland's Walkiest Town

Friends On A Walk

Why Walk?

Walking offers a multitude of benefits, including improved cardiovascular health, increased energy levels, stress reduction, and enhanced mental clarity. Whether it's a leisurely stroll or a brisk power walk, incorporating regular walking into your routine can contribute to a healthier and more balanced lifestyle.

What's going on?

  • Live Active Leisure's "Stride for Life" walk takes place every Thursday at 11 am, starting from the cinema in Aberfeldy. This gentle and short walk provides an opportunity to explore the town while engaging in physical activity.

  • The Ramblers, a walking group in the Strathtay area, organizes walks of varying lengths and types every second weekend. For those interested in joining the group and participating in their walks, more information can be found on the Ramblers website:

  • The Loch Tay Hikers is a walking group that meets weekly for walks of different lengths and types. Whether you prefer shorter or longer walks, the group offers a variety of options. Further details about their walks can be found on the Snap and Saunter website.

  • Run Talk Run provides a supportive environment for individuals interested in combining walking or running with mental well-being. Their gentle 5km runs take place on Mondays at 6.30 pm, with meetups at the Breadalbane Campus. This initiative allows participants to enjoy the benefits of exercise while engaging in conversations about mental health.

  • Wellness Walks combine walking with relationship, led by Beth Wallis, a trained mountain leader and mental health first aider.

  • Nordic Walking is a social and fun outdoor activity for a wide range of ages and abilities that works out your full body. It is great way to explore your local area and meet new people, and run in Highland Perthshire by the wonderful Eilidh.
