HOMEGROWERS OPEN THEIR GATES FOR INFORMAL TOURS
Open Gate Festival is part of our 'Eat Real Food' pillar, encouraging and enabling people to eat better, grow food or eat local food where possible, and understand the link between food, health and climate. It offers our community the chance to learn and engage with these important issues.

What better way to understand more about growing vegetables and fruit than talking to those in the area who already do this - whether they grow in pots on their patios, or have turned their outside space into a productive garden.

More than a dozen homes are opening their gates during the festival period to visitors to come and have a look around, ask questions and find out more about how people got started and how they fare in the 'growing your own' game.

And, of course, growing your own either at home or as part of a community project also helps us engage with Healthiest Town's other health pillars - Move More, Connect with People, Purpose & Nature and Finding Balance.
Plus, we have tours and open days at Tombreck Farm, Tomnah'a Market Garden, The Field Community Garden, Little Trochry Market Garden, Errichel Farm, and Pitlorchry Community Garden - check out the details and more events here.
